This weekend, Premier Daniel Andrews declared Victoria a state of disaster, due to the ongoing number of reported Covid 19 cases during this second wave of the coronavirus.
For the first time, the premier enacted Stage 4 restrictions, which included a mandatory curfew from 8 PM until 5 AM.
These new regulations are set to last the next 6 weeks and could include nearly $9 billion dollars from the national budget.
Mr. Andrews commented that these new restrictions might “cause a certain level of anxiety and uncertainty”. “But that the truth is, it is complex – and we’re going to take some extra time to make sure we get these calls right.”
Until Sunday September 13th, many businesses will close as Victorians are only allowed to go to the essential shops once during the day for food and supplies – and within 5 kilometres of their home.
