This weekend, the reported number of coronavirus cases around the nation seemed to decrease, while Australia passed the 300 deaths mark from COVID 19.
Now, Sydney residents are on alert as a fear of an increasing cluster of the virus is emerging near Cherrybrook as 3 students have tested positive at Tangara School for Girls.
Other areas surrounding Parramatta, Campbelltown, and Hornsby are also on alert as citizens might have been exposed to those positive cases over the weekend.
Due to these smaller clusters, authorities are now bracing for NSW to go into Stage 3 lockdown, in order to prevent a similar situation to that of Victoria.
Some believe that locking down early can prevent further escalation of this second wave.
New South Wales authorities have also hinted that the state is 2 to 3 weeks away from being out of that critical period, so these discussions need to take place immediately.
