Australia’s coronavirus case numbers continue to decrease. With showing single digit cases in New South Wales and Queensland, Victoria has also recorded less than 200 cases and that number continues to drop.
Authorities are hopeful that we are flattening the curve, but warn that there are still small pockets of cases out there, and that we need to monitor them carefully. More updates on those numbers at the end of the week.
In an update regarding Australian travel, Qantas has begun selling off their business class pyjamas after reporting a $2 billion loss last week.
As for the future of flying, the majority will be conducted for mostly domestic travel, with analysts predicting relatively normal pricing.
It is understood that airlines do not wish to charge up on their losses, specifically because it is predicted that people will be scared to travel or that they will not have the funds for these holidays after salaries have taken a major hit during the pandemic.
Nonetheless, Australians are keen to travel, and Rex Airlines has been the beneficiary of multiple government assistance packages.
With that, we will see many more rural destination flights in the future.
